Dr. Juanita Urban-Rich is an Associate Professor in the Environmental, Earth and Ocean Sciences department at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She is a biological oceanographer, who studies zooplankton connections to carbon cycling and climate change. Juanita created the "Windows around the World" program because of her love for children and interest in increasing their opportunity to learn about the world. She also wanted to increase people's awareness of other countries and cultures, especially in light of climate change. Jim Rich is the Managing Director of Technology for an Interactive Marketing agency in Boston. He has an M.S. in Marine Science as well as 8 years of experience developing data driven web sites. Jim is an advocate of using technology in education and has been volunteering his time to design and build the database and website to support "Windows around the World" as well as install the cameras and monitor the data and images being collected.
